GoLite Review and Giveaway!

I've got a great review to share with you all today!  GoLite was very generous in sending me a complimentary mesh cap, Tumalo Pertex® 2.5-Layer Storm Jacket, and a Cayambe Reversible Travel Dress to review!

I am so happy to be able to share this great company with you.  GoLite is a place where you can take your business and know that you're supporting a responsible eco-friendly business... not to mention that their products are top-notch!  Here you can see how "GoLite’s extensive use of Tier 1 recycled fabrics won the “Green Award” and was one of only 15 innovative products honored with a 2010 Backpacker Editors’ Choice Award."  That's impressive, but it's not all!

Earlier this year GoLite initiated their Product Take-Back Program in which they state "We'll take any unwanted GoLite product off your hands. When you send it back to us, we will repair, donate, repurpose, and/or recycle everything we get back. And if the technology doesn't yet exist to recycle it, we'll hang on to it until it does."

GoLite is seriously "committed to building a sustainable business."  They even developed a GoLite Index™ that addresses each product’s key social and environmental impacts.  I am SO glad I've discovered GoLite and am able to share them with you!

Now I'll get to the actual product reviews, but seriously, you need to check them out (here).  And while you're at it, sign up to WIN FREE STUFF!  For 93 days, GoLite is giving away free gear. You only have to enter once here, and you're signed up for the entire contest. You can win anything from a $700 tent to a $300 jacket to running gear and hydration systems!  So what are you waiting for?!

10 of 10!  This hat is SO much better than my cheap cotton ones - go figure ;-).  It's very stylish while also keeping my head cool due to the wicking and quick-drying material.  It even has an adjustable Velcro® back closure so it fits as snugly as I want it to.  It is totally my new go-to cap!

10 of 10 too!  This is a very lightweight waterproof and breathable shell.  It fits over almost any top I have and provides great coverage and protection from the rain!  I especially love the large hood.  Even before wearing this I could tell it was constructed well with its fully taped seams, waterproof zip hand pockets, and more!  I also love the color as it can go with absolutely anything :-).

Last, but not least is my personal favorite: the Cayambe Reversible Travel Dress

10 of 10!  This dress is most definitely a travel dress, though it can easily be worn about town and so forth.  It is light, packable, very comfortable and stylish - especially since it is reversible (2 dresses in one - the other side of mine is black)!  It even has a UPF of 50+.

I loved the above gear so much, I actually took pictures of me wearing it so you could see how it looks in 'real life' so to speak.  I don't usually take pics of myself (as many of you have probably realized) since I'd much rather be the one behind the camera instead of in front ;-).  It was worth it to show you the items from GoLite though.  Thank you GoLite and Outside PR (they coordinated the review).

I was even sent a cute bumper sticker that I am now sporting on my car:

But wait!  I'm not done yet!  There's a GIVEAWAY!  GoLite is going to send TWO of my readers a free mesh cap like the one I received.

  2. I visited their site - I learned that GoLite takes back their stuff when you're done with it. I can't really write it as well as they did, so check out the "I'm Not Trash" link on the site - cool stuff!

  3. How do I live sustainably? Well, the three R's, obviously (I want start composting for the 4th R - rot, but haven't yet. I blame laziness), I avoid new products unless necessary, I try to buy products with the least amount of packaging possible.
