Yes! I'm done with finals and my undergraduate career at ISU! I have to say it's a time of mixed emotions though. I'm definitely going to miss ISU and Ames, IA :-(. Still, it's exciting to be moving on in my life! I'll be attending graduate school in the fall - most likely at U. of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign for library and information science. I'm super excited to say the least!
I'm also excited to share my review of
Galaxy Granola! You may have seen it on other blogs or perhaps you've heard of their
Fruit Not Fat movement. I am very thankful that they were generous enough to send me three bags of their granola to sample and review on my blog. Here are a few facts about their granola from their
website:
Galaxy Granola has:
No artificial ingredients
No oil
No corn syrup
No processed sugar
Looks good! Of course, I will say that I believe oil, corn syrup, and processed sugar are fine in moderation, but Galaxy Granola makes great granola without those things - so more power to them!
Here's some more info. that I received with my samples:
These are the three flavors I received:
Now for the reviews!
Vanilla Almond:
9.5 of 10. I liked how this granola was a bit chunkier than the other flavors. It was sweet, fresh, crisp, and crunchy with a very rich vanilla flavor and a hint of apple. I loved the almonds too since I simply can't eat granola without nuts. I had to add nuts to the other flavors :-).
Not Sweet Vanilla:
9.5 of 10. An awesome mild vanilla flavor, and not too sweet - what a surprise! (Of course, even the regular vanilla wasn't too sweet) This flavor granola worked great as a topping for sweetened yogurt :-).
Cranberry Orange:
9 of 10. This flavor was the sweetest, perhaps a bit too much. There was a generous amount of dried cranberries, and they were complemented by the orange flavor infused in the granola. Fresh, crisp, and crunchy too!
Overall, I really enjoyed the Galaxy Granola. In fact, it was quite addicting! I'll admit that I never had just the 1/4 c. serving ;-). That's a sign of quality though, I do believe. Galaxy Granola also has a
raspberry flavor, which I am sure is just as delicious as the flavors I tried.
Have any of you tried Galaxy Granola or heard of the Fruit Not Fat movement?
